Dorthe Nors

They are thrilled to welcome a virtuoso writer working at the very edge of innovation in fiction: Danish author Dorthe Nors.

Her latest novel Mirror, Shoulder, Signal was shortlisted for the 2017 Man Booker International Prize, and tells the story of a woman, who in the middle of her life, insists on learning how to drive. It’s a story about longing to go back to a place that no longer exists. About emancipation – and being stuck. A surprising book – dark, sly and sprightly – of which the Guardian said, ‘Nors’s reinvention of experimental fiction is marvellous.’

Dorthe will be reading and talking about her new book, alongside her arresting novella Minna Needs Rehearsal Space, and her razor-sharp collection of short stories Karate Chop.

The first Danish writer to have had a story published in The New Yorker, Dorthe will be in conversation with MLF’s Kate Feld. This event is supported by The Danish Arts Foundation.
