J’ai Trop Peur (I’m So Scared)
'I’m ten and a half years old. It’s my last year before year seven, and everyone knows that year seven is an absolute nightmare. So, I’m not doing well. I mean, really not well. And I’m scared, so scared.
We are spending the summer, as we always do, by the sea in Quiberon and I meet this fourteen year-old called Francis. That’s when I realised that I had been wrong all along about year seven: according to Francis, it was worse – infinitely worse – than I thought it was. It’s more like the apocalypse, like the end of the world.
So, it’s decided – I’m not going, not ever. The only problem is, is that the days are flying by faster and faster and I need to come up with an idea really soon.'
Three actresses play both the male and female roles in David Lescot’s heart-warming adolescent drama about the challenges of school, friendships and growing up.
J’ai Trop Peur was commissioned by the Theatre de la Villa and has toured extensively throughout France.
