The Art of the Brick is the world-renowned LEGO brick art show from brick artist Nathan Sawaya. The exhibition, which features over 60 sculptures, has been touring the globe since 2007, stopping off in Melbourne, Moscow, New York, Taipei and more.
Next up, The Art of Brick tour will stop off at Manchester's Great Northern Warehouse where it will run from Friday 22nd November 2019–Monday 20th April 2020. Tickets are on sale now.
Popular pieces from the show include Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Michaelangelo's David and Sawaya's My Boy, Dinosaur. The Manchester run will also feature pieces never seen in the UK before. The exhibition is open daily with time slots available to book in 30-minute intervals. This will be the first Northern display of Sawaya's work which was previously exhibited in London. In 2017 London also homed follow-up exhibition The Art of the Brick: DC Superheroes.
Speaking of his exhibition, Sawaya commented: 'I use LEGO® bricks as my medium because I enjoy seeing people's reactions to artwork created from something with which they are familiar. Everyone can relate to it since it is a toy that many children have at home'.
