Double Indemnity

Inspired by Billy Wilder’s classic film noir of the same name, Double Indemnity, curated by Michael Connor, will explore questions of desire, possession and complicity through new and recent work by a selection of high profile artists, including Sophie Calle, Jenny Holzer, Laurel Nakadate, Hito Steyerl, Emily Jacir, Sharif Waked, Bunny Rogers & Filip Olszewski and Frances Stark.

Two new commissions will contribute to the immersive, psychoanalytic experience: Ming Wong’s video work After Chinatown features the artist adopting male and female guises, including the femme fatale, as he explores Chinatowns across the world, while Anicka Yi’s unique fragrance will evoke the essence of Barbara Stanwyck’s character in Double Indemnity.
