Sounds Of The City 2017: Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire are set to bring their breath taking live set to Sounds Of The City this summer at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on Thursday 6th July.
Arcade Fire’s headline show, which is also part of Manchester International Festival, is their first in the city in six years. 2017 also marks a major live return for the band with European festival appearances this year such as the UK’s Isle Of Wight Festival and Spain’s Primavera.
Arcade Fire’s creative journey so far has seen them release highly acclaimed studio albums Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs and Reflektor.
Sounds Of The City in the past four years has become a staple part of the Manchester music scene. Along with Arcade Fire, some of the most acclaimed live artists including Richard Ashcroft, Haçienda Classical, The Levellers and The Waterboys, James, and Blossoms will all headline outdoor shows at Castlefield Bowl this summer.

Montreal's Grammy award winning indie-rock collective have grown from critically acclaimed cult heroes to stadium sensations across their five albums, with 2011's 'The Suburbs' picking up 'Best International Album' award at the Brits.
Their now established baroque sound, embracing violin, cello, accordion, etc. then moved into a more electro direction on fourth album 'Reflektor' with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy producing, while 2017's fifth album 'Everything Now' is perhaps their most eclectic release to date, taking in elements of Disco, Reggae, Country, Funk and Electro.
