MCR Student Night Out

Manchester’s annual student shopping night out returns on Tuesday 29 September, with organisers promising a bigger, better and later event than ever before.

Manchester Arndale and Manchester’s business improvement district, the Heart of Manchester BID, are collaborating to host the event, which will see over 200 city centre stores open their doors late and offer one-night only discounts, exclusively for students.

The MCR Student Night Out, also in partnership with UNiDAYS, will bring a later, bolder, discount-packed, city-wide event, developed from Manchester Arndale’s 12 year old popular Student Night In.

From 4pm-9pm*, students with valid student ID will be able to stock up for the start of the academic year with a range of exclusive offers from the city’s retailers alongside shopping events, fashion and live music. Students can pre-register at www.myunidays.com/mcr.

Style-conscious students will be spoilt for choice on the night with leading high street brands including Topshop, Burton, H&M, French Connection, River Island, New Look, Warehouse, Kurt Geiger, Gap, Cath Kidston, Adidas, Dr Martens, Dorothy Perkins, Fat Face, Fred Perry, Links of London, Pretty Green, Ted Baker, UGG, Vans, USC and Office.

And after hitting the shop floors, students can head for a bite to eat and drinks at a range of bars and restaurants in Manchester Arndale and across the city centre offering exclusive discounts including Yo! Sushi, Pizza Hut, Barburitto, EAT, Starbucks, Bella Italia, Subway, KFC, McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Burger King.

Plus three dedicated street arenas will take over St Ann’s Square, Market Street and Exchange Square hosting top DJs and dance crews, alongside entertainment and street food. In St Ann’s Square, an inflatable games zone will offer those who want a break from shopping the chance to try their luck playing human table football and gladiator jousting or attempt the wipe out challenge and assault course. Students can also enter House of Fraser’s Cash Cube to grab golden tickets to win shopping prizes.

At Market Street and Exchange Square, Manchester’s Travelling Light Circus will be performing fire spinning and pyro trickery, alongside activities including Mexican arm wrestling and UNiDAYS’ spin and win competition - spin the wheel to win UNiDAYS swag from cash prizes to selfie sticks.
