Since 1997 XS Malarkey has been a Manchester institution, with compere Toby Hadoke bringing you the very best comedians at the lowest prices.
A minimum of just £3 for members and £6 for normal people- we keep tickets as low as possible to keep shows accessible, but if you can afford to pay more please do- we basically rely on those who can pay more than the minimum in order to pay for the shows. We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit club, and we really depend on your support to keep these shows running, so we hugely appreciate any extra help! Thank you!
This week:
STEPHEN BAILEY
FARAH SHARP
WILL BURNS
SANDRA COLE
& MC TOBY HADOKE
Lifetime membership costs £15, and includes entry to the show; you can also ask at the door on the night if you'd like to upgrade to membership.
Line up subject to change
Right of admission reserved
53two is a cashless venue, and we are also working on cashless ticketing so please bring contactless payment if you plan to walk up (we can accept cash but exact change only please!), but we strongly encourage you to buy tickets in advance; the venue has a strict capacity so when a show is sold out there will not be any room for walkups.
Booking guarantees entry and a seat (we no longer have standing room in our venue), but seating is unreserved. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please email info@xsmalarkey.com or message us on social media @xsmalarkey and we will make sure these are arranged ahead of arrival. 53two is a fully wheelchair-accessible venue but let us know if you would like us to reserve a wheelchair-friendly space.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Stephen Bailey is a comedian, television personality and writer, whose friendly and open brand of gossipy humour has made him one of the most sought after acts in UK comedy today. His sharp, warm and sassy take on life tunes into our day-to-day lives with his razor sharp wit and intelligence as he tackles the art of conversation. With so much social media have we forgotten how to just sit and engage with each other on a human level? Are we still able to express ourselves in more than 140 characters? As well as his live stand up, Stephen is also high in demand for his TV and radio work with regular appearances on ITV's Weekend with Aled Jones and Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side. He has also appeared on ITV2's Safeword and CelebAbility, ITVBe's Kate's Wardrobe Secrets, W's Celebrity Advice Bureau & Channel 5’s It's Not Me, It's You. ‘He has charisma, he has his own style, he has a wicked line in material and the ability to go off-piste with crowd work that is achingly funny’ (One 4 Review). 'Refreshing to watch, a comic who is so beautifully comfortable in his self that the show he has created is rich with positivity' (The New Current, 2014). "When it comes to being funny, he's just got it." (ScotsGay) "Bailey is an absolute crowdpleaser, getting the room howling with laughter.” (Chortle) Stephen Bailey featured in Ents24's 20 Hardest Working Comedians of 2018 list.

He was born in a small cottage in Ludlow, Shropshire at the turn of the century, and even as a baby, sported a rather manly collection of facial hair.' Manchester comedy Legend and host of XS Malarkey. Toby was the inaugural winner of The Les Dawson Award, beating a shortlist including Peter Kay, Daniel Kitson, Dave Spikey, Ken Dodd, Caroline Ahearne, Craig Cash and Steve Coogan. He works regularly in TV and Radio having appeared in shows ranging from Coronation Street to Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. 'Superior stand-up skills – very, very funny' (The Guardian) 'A comedy genius' (Metro).
