Songs Of The Sea

Following six sellout performances at the Seagull Theatre, Lowestofts very own shanty choir return with their usual inimitable mix of sea shanties and storytelling.

In this show the group will recreate the high-spirited, informal atmosphere of the infamous Lowestoft smokers, also known as shod concerts. These were named after a term used by Lowestoft fisherman for a large shed which companies would buiold for beachman to house and launch yawls a precursor to lifeboats.

Singing along will be encouraged and welcomed.
