Joe Boyd Presents Way To Blue - The Legacy Of Nick Drake: Robyn Hitchcock + Green Gartside + Neill MacColl + Kate St John and special guests Paul Smith (from Maximo Park) and Olivia Chaney. + Kate St John + Paul Smith (Maximo Park) + Olivia Chaney
An evening celebrating the release of the live CD "Way To Blue" and the continuing resonance of the music of Nick Drake. Joe Boyd will talk of his working relationship with Nick and the making of the "Way To Blue" CD, a large part of which was recorded at the Barbican.
With performances from Robyn Hitchcock, Green Gartside, Neill MacColl, Kate St John and special guests Paul Smith (from Maximo Park) and Olivia Chaney.
The man has over a dozen solo albums and seems to be a bottomless well of imagination - the usual extremes of emotion love, life and death, sprinkled with large grains of humour. A fabulous guitarist who can hold his own with one of the best rhythm sections there is. Live and in combination the output is consistently excellent. A multi-layered psychedelic sound that bites.

The lead singer of indie upstarts Maximo Park. Paul's 2010 solo album 'Margins' features contributions from Field Music's David Brewis and Peter Brewis. However, this does not mark the demise of Maximo Park, as Paul states "I'm not 'going solo' – it's not like George Michael leaving Wham!"
