Canada Day London
On 1st July people from all over the UK and afar gather at the London’s landmark, Trafalgar Square, to celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday, making London once again home to the largest Canada Day outside of Canada. Last years Canada Day celebration saw 90,000 people attend the free festivities in Trafalgar Square to celebrate all things Canadian. The event has become a mainstay of the capital’s cultural calendar and showcases the best of Canadian music, sport, art, culture, tourism, business, food and drink to Londoners, Canadians and other visitors from all around the world.
There will be plenty of activities throughout the 8th annual Canada Day in London, as this year promises to cater to everyone.
Then there is the excitement of sports throughout the day! Canadian’s gather together to showcase their hockey skills, as street hockey tournaments run throughout the day on the square. The James R Wright
road hockey tournament is back again with eight teams competing for the Trafalgar Cup.
The festival will also feature a lululemon yoga class, face painting for the kids and an appearance by Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
By the evening, attendees will have been treated to an array of Canada’s best musical talent. Jann Arden, Arkells and The Tragically Hip will perform in one of London’s best loved spaces.
The day offers a more innovative Canada Day concept this year, with firsts in fashion, food and musical highlights this year!
