Dude Looks Like a Lady are a five piece sketch group made up of Rebecca Baron, Jessica Ashworth, Amanda Stauffer, Leanne Davis and Juliet Catton; women of equal gumption, if not stature. Their show consists of all-original material inspired by the mundane and the ridiculous as perceived through the inner workings of five over-active imaginations.

Sometimes silly, often surreal, Dudes present their first full-length show and in return all they ask is for you to laugh a bit and, you know, maybe buy them a packet of crisps after, if you’re feeling flush.

Conversations with Barbara. An actress whose career has reached a cul de sac reluctantly takes up a job as a cleaner for an elderly, upmarket couple who live in a remote cottage in the middle of a common. Somewhere in between dry mopping floors and washing smalls with Sunlight Soap she finds herself immersed in the strangest set of roles she’s ever played: Lady’s Companion, attendant to a drunken gardener and a dog that won’t bark, an imaginary private in the Royal Airforce, and a champion of squirrels – all in a house inspired by a thirties upbringing and stuck doggedly in the 1950’s.

Rebecca Denmark effortlessly inhabits each of the characters that frequent this tiny kingdom with extraordinary warmth, wit and sensitivity. Conversations with Barbara will make you laugh and cry in equal measure and, for a brief time brings, you back in touch with the Great Britain of a bygone age.
