Last Of The Hipmen
A great chance to hear David Murray, one of the most important saxophonists and band leaders, in an intimate space. Here he re-creates a project from the late 80s, where he toured with trombonist Paul Zauner. The rest of the band is bassist Wolfram Derschmidt and drummer Dusan Novakov.
A not-to-be-missed opportunity for Murray to perform in such an intimate venue. As the Financial Times (Mike Hobart) wrote last time: "What we got was a majestic performance by a jazz iconoclast on peak form, stretching out over familiar material with sensitive support."
