Live At Chelsea 2018: Jeff Beck, Imelda May
Jeff Beck has been announced to perform at the Live At Chelsea Concert Series 2018, completing the line-up of shows in the idyllic grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in West London. The Grammy-winning guitarist will headline the venue on Friday 15th June 2018, as music fans across the capital will for the 4th year turn the grounds into one of the most unique live concert settings.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, meriting an inclusion in Rolling Stone’s list of the all-time top 100, Jeff Beck’s distinguished 50-plus year career in music has seen him twice be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame – once as a member of The Yardbirds in 1992, and again in 2009 as a solo artist.
Beck has also won an incredible eight Gammy Awards, and has and has recorded with everyone from Stevie Wonder and Buddy Guy to Tina Turner and Mick Jagger.
Guitar legend and innovator Jeff Beck has been bending the rules of guitar playing since he burst onto the scene with the Yardbirds in 1966. Although only a member of the band for eighteen months, he played guitar on almost all their biggest hits, and his unique playing style on songs like ‘Heart Full Of Soul’ and ‘Shapes Of Things’ undoubtedly helped to shape the psychedelic sound of the 60's.
After leaving the Yardbirds at the height of their fame, Beck embarked on a journey of musical discovery and innovation. Nearly fifty years later he is still pushing forward, and not relying on technology to create sound. Instead he prefers to utilize his own manual dexterity to bend the traditional conception of guitar music.
Following dates with the legendary Brian Wilson, Jeff's new band features Rhonda Smith (bass), Lizzie Ball (violin), Jonathan Joseph (drums) and Nicolas Meier (guitar).

One of Ireland's most celebrated female artists, Imelda May takes you on a twistin' ride influenced by the likes of Wanda Jackson, Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent, but all delivered with Imelda's own unique voice and lyrics. Her stompin' anthems 'Johnny Got A Boom Boom', 'Psycho' and 'Inside Out' all sounded like 1950s classics. However, the modern queen of Rockabilly has since broadened her sound, now taking in elements of blues, rock, soul, gospel and jazz.
