A Live Rendition Of Dave Brubeck's Time Out
At the turn of the 20th Century much of jazz had been given the status of the classical form. Musicians such as Dave Brubeck came along and changed the scene and aided it to flourish into the diverse culture we now know. Boasting the first jazz instrumental to sell a million copies, the Paul Desmond written 'Take Five', Brubeck’s best known album Time Out was released by Columbia records in 1959.
Brubeck’s vision of the album was to draw upon the musical styles he discovered when touring Europe and Asia. The combination of the eastern time signatures, he returned with, and his blend of cool and West Coast jazz, helped to highlight his individual style and innovations in music and helped this album reach its platinum status.
