We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Goblin Band to the Goose!

A real breath of fresh air to the English folk scene, Martin Carthy has described Goblin Band as "?they can play [and] sing and they?re fearless? - and who are we to disagree with Martin Carthy? We just think they are absolutely brilliant!

Door 7pm

* DJ FlapJackDavey 7 - 8pm and 11pm onwards

* Live music 8-11pm

* Tickets on the door (where still available) will be priced at £14 - CASH OR BACS ONLY, SORRY!

*Exceptionally, and at the request of the band, we are putting some advance tickets onsale at a concessionary price of £8. This will be for advance tickets only, and there will be a limited number.

***Please only buy a concessionary ticket if you genuinely can't afford to pay the full price, so that they are saved for people who would otherwise not be able to come to the gig. Thank you for your understanding!***

* Food available! Please note that you will not be able to eat in the ballroom where the concert is held, although once the doors open you may reserve a seat in the ballroom (for example by leaving your coat on it) and then eat elsewhere. If you wish to eat, please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time to order and eat your food.

* Please do not save seats for other people unless they will be arriving before the start of the live music at 8pm. If there is a particular problem please let us know, otherwise we reserve the right to give these seats to people who are already there and who would otherwise have to stand.

* There is a low step at the entrance to The Ivy House, and after that the venue is all on level ground. There is a disabled toilet in the ballroom where the concert will be held.

* If you are in a wheelchair, please let us know IN ADVANCE and we can reserve a space for you.

* THIS EVENT IS HALF SEATED, HALF STANDING.

* Please do not bring in seats or stools from other parts of the venue, which are needed for customers of the pub. We also need to keep enough space at the back of the room for people who are standing.

* If you or a member of your party must have a seat due to disability, PLEASE EITHER ARRIVE WHEN THE DOOR OPENS AT 7PM, OR ELSE LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE GIVING THE REASON WHY A SEAT IS NEEDED. Sorry, but we cannot undertake to reserve seats for anybody other than the person with a disability.

* Please be aware that whilst our events are held in The Ivy House's beautiful Grade 2 listed ballroom, this is a pub, so there may be some background noise from adjoining bars, although we and the pub management have done our best to minimise this.

* For more information, see our website www.thegooseisout.com or to contact us please email us at contactthegooseisout@gmail.com

*Please do feel free to contact us if you have any queries about any of the above!

We hope you will have a great time at all the Goose events you come to, and we hope to see you soon!

Goblin Band

Goblin Band formed organically from intimate sessions of the same name run out of Hobgoblin Music, a folk instrument shop in Central London, and organised by a group of queer folk obsessive friends and shop employees. These sessions have given rise to a six piece band which, though firmly rooted in the traditional music of the British Isles, draws widely on medieval and early music, as well as the folk musical traditions from abroad. The sound concocted employs all manner of strings, squeezeboxes, hurdy gurdy, flutes, horns, jaw harps, and bells and whistles. The Goblins interpret folk song in relation to the political upheavals of past and present and strive to make a space for new audiences to experience traditional music in a manner which is both riotously joyful and deeply sincere.
