Never miss another 'Neville Staple' show
"Neville Staple, also known as The Original Rudeboy, is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice.
Neville Staple’s more than thirty-five year career in the music business is well documented. From the early days with The Coventry Automatics, The Specials, & FunBoy3 in the late ’70s and ’80s, to The Special Beat and various other collaborations during his solo career from the ’90s up to the present day.
Neville will be releasing later in the autumn a double album, called: Return Of Judge Roughneck (and Dub Specials). To complement this release, Neville, his band and his wife Christine “Sugary” Staple, will be playing an intimate show at The Half Moon. Christine, will be doing a short set of songs from her new EP “Rude Girl Sounds” which was produced by Neville and he also provides backing vocals.
Following on from the 2009 Specials reunion and Neville’s departure from the band in late 2012, he continues to be a forerunner of the ska movement, and continues to thrill audiences with his own excellent band, The Neville Staple Band, at venue and festival appearances worldwide. “It isn't hard to work out why The Specials lack energy on stage, it's because Neville Staple took it with him” Steve Oliver , Nottingham Post"

This event takes place at The Half Moon Putney, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
The original rude boy, and one of the undisputed forerunners of the ska movement. Best known for being the lead singer of The Specials, Neville is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice. His biography reads like a who's who of rock. Not only has he worked with such legends as Elvis Costello, David Byrne and Ali Campbell but has also shared the stage with ska icons Rankin Roger (English Beat), forming Special Beat. Although this line up never actually recorded an album, they successfully toured the US with Sting and Steel Pulse before embarking on their own headline tour.
