Every 1st Saturday of the month Star Shaped willl be taking over Upstairs at the Garage, bringing you the best in Britpop until 4:00am!

Johnnies! Everybody loves ‘em. Especially in Summer. So they thought it would be a good idea to celebrate by getting a couple of them in for their Summer party!

Playing a special DJ set, the main man of Menswe@r himself, Mr Johnny Dean will be there. Johnny was the founding member of Menswe@r, who had a string of top 40 singles in the mid-90’s and can arguably be described as the most Britpop of bands. They also made BBC television history by being the first act to appear on Top of the Pops without having released a record.

The band scored six top thirty hits and an album that peaked at 11, toured the world and gained superstar status in Japan. 2015 sees the 20th anniversary of their debut album Nuis@nce and the band will be playing the whole album later in the year, so it seemed a good time to get Johnny in!

Johnny has an excellent taste in music and is looking forward to getting you lot dancing around Midnight.

Before that, there is something a little bit different, Mr Jonny Abrams. Jonny is a man and a guitar who specialises in performing whole Britpop albums in just 10 minutes. Intrigued? Thought so.

Honestly, it’s not to be missed. Jonny will be doing the whole of I Should Coco, Parklife and Different Class inside 30 minutes around 11:15pm so well worth finishing that last round in Wetherspoons a bit early for!

And as it's the summer party, They thought a Britpop themed Masked Ball theme would be suitably appropriate. So everyone will have masks of all your favourite Britpop stars available on the night!
