The prestigious Amused Moose Comedy’s National New Comic Award contest which searches out 2018’s hottest breakthrough stars in the making, who will battle for glory, fame and ultimately the shiny moose trophy, is underway.

350 entrants from across the UK and Ireland submitted a clip of them performing stand-up or sketches onstage, which were viewed online and sifted by illustrious comedy industry panellists across the UK and around the world.

The highest scoring 80 are performing live in these quarterfinals, with the top three in each quarterfinal going through to the semi-finals in April.

Uniquely all the audiences vote, as well as those of the industry panel, during all live rounds of thecompetition.

The final of this contest will take place during the Edinburgh Fringe, on the evening of Sunday 19 August, at the palatial
and extremely comfortable Symposium Hall.
