Flood For The Famine

Songwriter/Producer Alex Lindner returns to Servant Jazz Quarters to play songs from his upcoming EP, Waiting to Happen.

Lindner brings together his unique blend of folk, blues and soul in his recording project Flood for the Famine, where stories of love rub shoulders with the more absurd aspects of city life…small-timers bang on strip club doors demanding their money back, while elsewhere despairing drunks are taken into the loving arms of bouncers.

'When renting a studio pretty much above a strip club, it’s kind of hard to ignore all that stuff - you see something different every day. Sometimes I just run away with it…'

These scenes are delivered with a backdrop of piano and atmospheric guitars and synths, with sonic nods to modern luminaries including Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and James Blake.
