Mercury Prize-nominated Portico Quartet take to the stage for the world premiere of a brand-new audiovisual concert to celebrate the Science Museum's latest major exhibition, The Sun: Living with Our Star.

Portico Quartet's style has always been impossible to pin down. Sending out echoes of jazz, electronica, ambient music and minimalism, the band created their own singular cinematic sound over the course of three studio albums, from their 2007 breakthrough 'Knee-Deep in the North Sea', and the John Leckie produced 'Isla' in 2010, to the self-titled 'Portico Quartet' in 2012.

Fresh from headlining the Roundhouse in October 2018, the band will perform brand-new music set to projected visuals produced by the Science Museum and inspired by The Sun: Living with Our Star.

Featuring stunning photography from the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory, archive and brand-new film footage, photography and animation, this new and moving performance reflects the story of Earth’s nearest star and humankind’s relationship with it.
