A radical new perspective of Stravinsky’s masterpiece using digital technology

For over a hundred years, choreographers have been bringing their own, unique interpretations to the timeless themes in The Rite of Spring. Now it’s Alexander Whitley’s turn.

Whitley is known for his pioneering work with digital technology that redefines the boundaries of dance. Using live motion capture and digitally generated scenes, he draws striking parallels between a world of interconnected nature and hyper-connected technology.

The second half of this double bill is a new work made in collaboration with avant-garde sound designer and composer, Ben Frost, who has been described as ‘a master of perspective altering music’.
