"Grammy Award-winning Beninese singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo returns to Southbank Centre by popular demand after her sell-out gig in 2012.
Angelique Kidjo is one of West Africa's most celebrated artists. Acclaimed by Time magazine as 'Africa's premier diva', she was ranked by the BBC in its list of the continent's 50 most iconic figures.
Kidjo is joined by Mali-born Fatoumata Diawara. Her acclaimed first album 'Fatou' was voted The Sunday Times' number 1 world music album of 2011 and WMCE's album of the year.

Born in Benin (West Africa), Angélique Kidjo is a Grammy award-winning music recording artist deemed "Africa's premier diva" by Time Magazine. Kidjo's internationally acclaimed repertoire includes collaborations with various recording artists such as Carlos Santana, Peter Gabriel, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, Branford Marsalis, Joss Stone, and many more. Known for her dynamic and uplifting music, she also promotes education for girls in Africa through her foundation, Batonga and travels the world as a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador.
