What Is She Saying?
What is She Saying? presents poems inspired by early twentieth-century silent film.
Three very different poetic responses summon up the voices of women from this world. Claire Crowther reads from her new pamphlet Silents, while Professor Sharon Morris of the Slade School of Art presents her own poems alongside those by HD, the actor, silent-film theorist and modernist poet.
Plus, Cleo Barnham reads from Mary Jo Bang’s long poem about Louise Brookes, a silent film star.
