Rainer Hersch brings together the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain with full symphony orchestra and stars of the classical world for an afternoon of comedy, music and mayhem.
The programme includes Glinka's Overture to Ruslan and Ludmila (comedy version), Britten / UOGB's Young Person's Guide to the Ukulele Orchestra (yes, really), Liszt / Tom and Jerry's The Cat Concerto (live and on stage), J Strauss II's Laughing Song (translated), Pachelbel's Canon (trashed) - and more. Much, much more!

'Rapier wit' (The Times)
'Classical music comedy at its best' (BBC Radio 4).
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Brilliant comic star of TV and BBC Radio giving classical music a new dose of the Victor Borge treatment. He turns his comic skills on those awkward questions: 'Why is organ music so boring?'; 'How can I play a musical instrument without practising?'; 'What do conductors actually do?'.

The nation's favourite impressionist, also known for his brilliant stand-up and acting. McGowan is best known for his work with Ronni Ancona on The Big Impression (formerly Alistair McGowan's Big Impression), which spawned his culturally popular impressions of David Beckham, Sven-Goran Eriksson, Gary Lineker, Richard Madeley, Tony Blair, Ross Geller (Friends) and Dot Cotton (EastEnders). His one-man stand-up shows are also critically acclaimed.
"Wickedly funny mimicry" - Sunday Mirror.
"Even if Alistair McGowan wasn't an impressionist and stuck simply to stand-up gaggery, he'd surely be one of the best comics on the circuit. As it is, he gives us a double layer of excellence" - This Is Nottingham
