Never miss another 'The 1975' show
The 1975 + Marika Hackman
Manchester-based band, The 1975, will make their Royal Albert Hall debut as part of the Hall's Albert Sessions initiative.
The 1975 released their eponymous debut album in September 2013, which went straight to No. 1 on the UK Album Chart.
Support at this special concert will come from Marika Hackman.
This concert is presented as part of the Hall’s prestigious Albert Sessions, an initiative that enables artists who have not previously headlined at the venue to showcase their talent on the main stage. As part of the Albert Sessions, The 1975 will support the Hall's education and outreach programme with an educational music workshop as part of its extensive public benefit remit.
This event takes place at Royal Albert Hall, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Dark and far-reaching, reverential to 90s shoegaze yet constantly looking forward: The 1975's bombastic sound has gained them a haul of fans across the globe, and they continue to captivate audiences with their wintery, glitchy, melodic form of alternative rock.
The 1975 tour dates
Marika's music channels something very different to the happy-clappy nature of recent folk. Hers is a far more potent vision in the lineage of Syd Barrett, but presented by an enigmatic beauty with a striking vocal delivery more akin to that of Nico deftly exploring an unsmiling bereft landscape.
Intrigue is at the heart of Marika's music, but there's something gloriously attainable about her as an artist, and her commitment to touring and meeting with a receptive audience who are searching for the very same antidotes to the challenges of modern life.
