Berlioz - Te Deum
Berlioz's titanic setting of the Te Deum provides a spectacular work to celebrate 175 years of Guildford Choral Society.
Along with one of the UK's great orchestras - the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - and with the Chichester Singers, Portsmouth Choral Union and City of London Choir and a large children's chorus drawn from schools in Guildford and London, over 500 voices will combine to deliver this magnificent work. Conceived on a gigantic scale the first performance was conducted by Berlioz himself in 1855. Conductor for this performance will be Jonathan Willcocks, Musical Director of Guildford Choral Society.
