Beck with Live Orchestra

Contemporary chameleon Beck will showcase a daring and different side of his creative acumen this April with two exclusive orchestral performances at the Hall.

Accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, Beck will deliver two unforgettable evenings of unique symphonic arrangements of classics and deep cuts from a towering back catalogue. This will include the multi-platinum Odelay, world-tripping Mutations, sombre and reflective Sea Change, and GRAMMY Album of the Year winner Morning Phase, to name but a few—as well as a few rare covers, curiosities and other surprises.

Beck's rambling collage of sound is built up from cryptic Dylanesque lyrics, Delta blues, hiphop and rock'n'roll. Blended in a carefree, lo-fi style, his sound is original and has earned huge critical acclaim. Beck continues to produce innovative material and looks set to become one of his generation's great singer-songwriters.

The BBC Concert Orchestra

Now celebrating a half century of broadcasting, this versatile orchestra varies its range from classical works and grand opera to light music and popular songs. They are regular performers at the Last Night of the Proms and their wide-ranging and eclectic repertoire can be heard on Radio and TV, including The Blue Planet soundtrack and Proms in the Park and on the concert platform with artists such as The Corrs, Nigel Kennedy and José Cura.
