Saturday Brunch: Songs & Stories with Ian Shaw & Elaine Delmar

‘Songs and Stories’ places a UK music luminary centre stage, alongside multi-award winner, singer, pianist and broadcaster, Shaw. Up-close and personal. Shaw has interviewed (and often performed at the club with) the likes of Van Morrison, Monty Alexander, Frank Sinatra Junior, George Benson, Madeline Bell, Claire Martin, Pee Wee Ellis amongst many others.

The (often) legendary artists we have invited will perform songs that have marked rich and varied careers, often taking their unique artistry all over the world. With a Q&A section, the stories will flow, around the live performances as Shaw invites you into the peculiar, challenging and exciting world of the recording and touring artist. Elaine Delmar has long been established as a singer of the very highest calibre - with the voice and personality that have captivated audiences wherever she has appeared the world over.

Elaine was raised in a strong musical environment, her father being the renowned trumpeter Leslie 'Jiver' Hutchinson, a leading influence in the jazz and dance band movement in Britain from the 1930s onwards. Elaine's experience is indeed wide and diverse. Best known for her starring role in the musical Bubbling Brown Sugar at The Royalty Theatre, London, she also had notable success with Kern Goes To Hollywood, appearing in both the London and Broadway productions. As a singer she has appeared in concerts with Andy Williams and Michel Legrand, with the London Symphony Orchestra (Royal Albert Hall, London).
