Following on from last September's hugely successful event, Celebrate Life Events are collaborating again with the UK Rwandan Community and this time are including the UK Burundian Community as well.

Expect an evening jam packed with traditional and contemporary music, dance, storytelling and delicious Rwandese food.

Jean Paul Samputu sings in six languages and in styles ranging from soukous and rumba, to traditional Rwandan 5/8, Afrobeat, pygmy, and gospel. Samputu travels the world as a cultural ambassador for Rwanda, bringing to his audiences not only traditional African singing, dancing, and drumming, but also a message of peace and reconciliation. A survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, Samputu takes you to the most positive place of humanity through his spirit and music.

Born in Bujumbura, Burundi, Mudibu Inzatsa left at the age of 16 escaping the civil war. He studied in the UK and by 2001 had a passion to pursue music. Armed with a guitar, he started gigging around London and this adventure culminated in his unique form of Afropean Bluesy Rock and Soul. He is Chairman of the Burundian community

Traditional Burundian drummers will lift the roof with their percussive sounds, plus the elegant and beautiful performance by Rwaab Dancers of traditional Rwandese dance.

Be enthralled by London born Griot Cheynere, whose roots go back to the Igbo people of West Africa. A storyteller who weaves tales with a timeless message at their heart, creating a world of her own which allows listeners to embark on a journey with her.

The themes of the event will be captured in a short film with the moving words of Peace Ambassador Prem Rawat: 'Peace begins with every single human being. You want light in this world? Then we are the lamps. And each one has to be lit.'
