Euphonyx System 5 Training

The course will be an introduction and a refresher in using the recording studio in room 306.

There will a brief explanation of the live area’s microphone tie-lines, and where these appear on the control room’s patchbay.

This will be followed by explanations and demonstrations of the templates on the Euphonix computer (basic recording, stereo mix, 5.1 mix), and how these relate to the console’s layout. The first part will be explaining how to load and save templates (without overwriting the original).

The second part will focus on the console itself: setting recording levels, creating tracks and configuring inputs and outputs in Pro Tools, and setting up multiple headphones sends from the strips on the console. This section will also include troubleshooting the console if templates have been accidentally overwritten.

Required knowledge, software or equipment.
Some prior experience of using Pro Tools, and having worked on music recording sessions will be useful, but not essential.
