Learn why conflict has endured in the Bangsamoro region of the Philippines, what solutions were effective, and which ones weren’t in stemming violence. Through the case study of “rido” (a form of inter-clan violence), this talk emphasizes the need to respect and engage with diverse perceptions, needs, and rule-systems, both formal and informal.
The talk will highlight the experiences of local communities and the need to strengthen local networks and capacities for peacebuilding. It draws from the experience of International Alert Philippines Programme and will be delivered by Francesca Humi, former project officer in the Philippines.
