Roses In December / Fixing It

A double bill of new plays by Jeffrey Mayhew and Stewart Pringle

Roses in December by Jeffrey Mayhew:
Roses in December is a gentle, humanist look at the long haul of a single father bringing up a son. A fleeting series of vignettes, framed by the ever present sea, traces a path of dependency - that on the son on the father, then ultimately that of the father on the son.

Written by Jeffrey Mayhew The Father - Jeffrey Mayhew The Son - Denholm Spurr

Fixing It by Stewart Pringle:
It's a cold, still morning in Woodlands Cemetery, and the church bells are waiting to chime. The country is holding its breath. The birds' song is caught in their throats. He's waiting too, this man in high-viz, this clown. He's waiting for the stroke of Eight.

A monologue, in blank verse, in less than half an hour.
