The Kentucky Headhunters is an American country and Southern rock band. They were founded in 1968 as Itchy Brother, which consisted of brothers Richard Young and Fred Young along with Greg Martin and Anthony Kenney.
Alt-country legends led by singer-songwriter Jason Ringenberg (who has also carved out a parallel career making children's music, under the name Farmer Jason). The Scorchers make a sound that combines alt-rock with country, or "cowpunk" as some have called it.
"The tension between the guitarist’s desire to sound like AC/DC and the singer’s love of Hank Williams meant that ason and the Scorchers made music that sounded like no one else" - The Guardian.
Dan Baird was the main songwriter in The Georgia Satellites, known chiefly in the UK for 'Keep Your Hands to Yourself' and for blowing Status Quo offstage at the Reading Rock Festival in 1987. Dan has been writing, touring and producing since leaving the Satellites, and anyone listening to UK rock radio in the last few years should also have heard 'I Love You Period' - another runka-runka-three-chords-and-a-cloud-of-dust boogie that helped cement his reputation.
