Orlando
Come to the National Maritime Museum for a Sally Potter's 'sumptuous and witty' (Adam Roberts, Film 4) adaptation, made over 20 years ago, that says so much about topical gender issues in 2016.
Orlando is a film in which the protagonist - played to perfection, as always, by Tilda Swinton - goes to sleep in the 16th century as a man, and wakes as a woman.
Orlando follows Swinton's apparently ageless character through the following decades, as she comes to terms with her feminine life. In sumptuous setting and with wonderful costume, Potter creates a world where all the details matter.
The evening will include a performance from the London Oriana Choir, one of the city’s leading singing groups. Be sure to join for some 'thrilling vocal pyrotechnics'! (Evening Standard)
Please note that ticket types include Standard or Magic Carpet.
