There is an unwritten rule that the harder you strive for an enjoyable New Year's Eve, the more underwhelming it ends up being. Kate has gone to a tremendous effort organising a sophisticated reunion for her success hungry friends, who she soon realises aren't quite as close as they once were. After her best laid plans fail to come to fruition, a night of brooding tension, failed romance and ten pin bowling ensues.??

Michael Wynne's hilarious comedy was a huge success following its debut at the Royal Court in November 2009 and later won an Olivier award. The wry, well observed humour is mixed with a light dusting of the pathos for which the playwright is known.
