The Butler Didn't Do It is a farcical send up of the traditional murder mystery set against the backdrop of a murder mystery weekend. Using the familiar tropes of an Agatha Christie novel, the play explores how even murder can descend into silliness very rapidly. It's a humorous Mouse Trap that leaves the audience trying to peel back the layers of truth. With an ensemble cast of characters who each have their own strange back stories and potential motives to murder.

The show begins with Miss Mingle, a lady sleuth, beginning to reveal the motive of every character for murdering Clive Fleming, the wealthy American, with a pair of knitting needles. When suddenly Miss Mingle appears to have a heart attack, or perhaps she was poisoned. As confusion mounts the guests of the murder mystery weekend all break character and team up to figure out who did actually kill Miss Mingle and why the butler is acting so suspiciously.

Twists and turns abound.
