Change are celebrating the release of their classic 1984 album ‘Change of Heart’ with a 40th Anniversary Tour. The band are still fronted by the original male vocalist from the hit album, Rick Brennan

Already 4 dates at London’s Jazz Cafe are now sold out 6 months in advance and due to demand the band have added a 5th and final London show date at Koko in Camden on Sunday 22nd December.

Special guests for the show will be the UK’s very own Loose Ends – who like Change emerged from the urban Soul era of the early to mid 80’s.

Hosting the show will be leading UK Soul Station Solar Radio’s Ash Selecta and ‘Brother Louie’ Martin – who will be taking the crowd back in time with a set of late 70’s and early 80’s Soul weekender classics.

As a nod to the ‘Jazz Funk & Soul’ All Dayer scene that both bands and DJ’s played an integral part of in the early 80’s the event will run as a ‘Mini All Dayer’ with doors and DJ’s opening at 4pm with the bands hitting the stage from 5.30pm. The event will reach its finale at 8pm.

Change

European-American collaborations were not uncommon during the disco and post-disco eras. Change are among the most noteworthy international acts to spring up during the early '80s. Change is most commonly associated with 'The Glow of Love', a 1980 single featuring Luther Vandross over a wistful Chic-like production. The group released 11 other charting singles, as well as six charting albums, two of which peaked in the Top Ten of Billboard's RnB Albums chart.

Loose Ends

One of the most successful UK soul bands of the 1980's, Loose Ends first hit the charts in 1985 with 'Hanging on a String' which went to number one in the USA and hit the national top 10 in the UK. More hits followed on both sides of the Atlantic with 'Magic Touch', 'Slow Down' and 'Watching You (Watching Me)'. In 1990 two of the original members, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol, left the band and were replaced with Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman, who joined founding member Carl McIntosh, and who have now brought Loose Ends back to overwhelming demand.
