Helter Skelter With Julian Gaskell & His Ragged Trousered Philanthropists At Jamboree

Jamboree welcomes The Cornwall King of the agricultural garage-gypsy sound backed by his screaming dukes of skiffle. The band will play two sets over the course of the night.

Described by angry locals as the bastard son of Waits, Strummer, Reinhardt and Rachmaninov, Julian Gaskell's music over the last 20 years has followed a wayward path of withering agricultural-folk, klezmer accordion, overly-lyrical punk, gypsy-jazz guitar, tangos, waltzes, rhumbas and skiffled-up boogie-woogie piano.

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, named after the Robert Tressell book, are Julian's long-suffering band:
Thomas Pooley Tolkien Sharpe on banjo, piano, mandolin, vocals
Cally Gibson on viola and violin
Nigel Parsons on bass
Matthew Collington on drums
