As part of Jacksons Lane’s 40th birthday celebrations, we are delighted to welcome two of the UK’s leading literary figures with a night of readings, questions and conversation.

Writer, producer and actress Meera Syal CBE discusses her brilliant new novel The House of Hidden Mothers; a heart-wrenching tale of a couple in East London who are desperate for a child. Joining Meera is world-renowned author Esther Freud to talk about her critically-acclaimed latest book, Mr Mac and Me, which tells the bitter-sweet story of an unlikely friendship blossoming in a Suffolk coastal village during the First World War.

As well as the readings there will be a chance to hear about their friendship, lives, careers and the opportunity for the audience to ask questions in this very special one-off evening.
