Long Island rock legends Blue Öyster Cult have announced a very special UK concert under their original moniker of Soft White Underbelly.
Blue Öyster Cult’s sole constant member Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser formed Soft White Underbelly in 1967 alongside drummer Albert Bouchard, keyboardist Allen Lanier, rhythm guitarist John Wiesenthal and bassist vocalist Andrew Winters.
Les Braunstein was then recruited as Soft White Underbelly’s first lead vocalist before being replaced by Eric Bloom in April 1969, and there were numerous other line-up changes.
Ditching Soft White Underbelly, the band eventually adopted the new name Blue Öyster Cult in 1971, and they have gone on to sell more than 24 million records worldwide and score international hits like ‘(Don't Fear) The Reaper’ with ‘Burnin' for You.’
Blue Öyster Cult played a number of small club shows in the 70s and early 80s as Soft White Underbelly.
Now, 44 years on, Soft White Underbelly (ahem, Blue Öyster Cult) are back for a special one-night only event.
Blue Oyster Cult
Classic 70s American stadium rock band whose seminal track 'Don't Fear The Reaper' is still a favourite in rock clubs around the world.
