BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park: Jeff Lynne's ELO + Blondie + Chrissie Hynde + Kacey Musgraves + Paloma Faith + Gregory Porter + Bellowhead
BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park returns for another 'Festival in a Day' with performances from some of the most current popular artists and Radio 2's best loved presenters.
Now established as one of the summer's musical highlights after the huge success of previous years, the unique concert sees Radio 2 once more take the station out of the studio and into Hyde Park on Sunday September 14th 2014.
Jeff Smith, Head of Music, Radio 2 and 6 Music, said:
"Another year and another stellar line-up come together for a day of fantastic music which showcases the range and diversity of music provided by Radio 2 - the nation's favourite radio station. And what better way to say goodbye to the summer than a music fuelled day out with friends and family?"
An incredible 35 years since their formation, the music of the Electric Light Orchestra is still as popular as ever. All over the world, people are tuning into the sound of ELO via radio, the internet, cinemas and TV. The seemingly ageless songs of ELO leader Jeff Lynne are even being heard again in the singles charts, thanks to the cream of today's young dance acts sampling the band's original music and turning on a whole new generation of fans.

Blondie formed in 1974 and had a string of hits through the 70s and 80s as the instigators of the New York side of the new wave punk scene. Debbie Harry went on to pursue a successful solo career, with the hit 'I Want That Man' in 1989, and the band reformed in 1999, having No. 1 single success with 'Maria'.

Since their formation in 2004 Bellowhead have occupied a unique place in Britain's musical landscape. Wild, joyous, perverse, bold, crazy, full-blooded, intricate, fearless, funny, epic and mostly BIG, the mighty 11-piece Bellowhead blend folk, jazz, classical, disco and world music influences with English music and cabaret to stunning effect.
Playing more than 20 instruments between them with six vocalists, they deliver a heady brew that defies categorisation and have placed themselves at the cutting edge of the contemporary music scene while harnessing all the power and mystery of ancient English and European musical traditions.
