Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park 2017

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is delighted to reveal that the sixth and final headliner for 2017 is… The Killers!

Rumours of their return have been simmering for months. Now, The Killers can give fans something huge to look forward to this year with the news of a 2017 UK festival exclusive.

The Las Vegas group’s summer return will give fans an early glimpse of material from their hugely anticipated new album, alongside their much-loved classics, all in the unbeatable setting of Hyde Park.

The Killers stormed into the UK with their 2004 debut, 'Hot Fuss', which went on to become one of that decade’s biggest selling albums and has since been hailed as one of the greatest debut albums of all time by Rolling Stone. Since then, each of the band’s four studio records (Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008) and Battle Born (2012)) has topped the UK charts, the band clocking up over 20 million album sales and headlining festivals and arenas the world over, notably joining the rarified ranks of Wembley Stadium headliners with a sold out show there in 2013.

With an immense catalogue of hits, including 'Mr Brightside', 'When You Were Young', 'Human', 'Read My Mind' and 'Runaways', festival goers will welcome The Killers back with open arms on 8th July.

Joining The Killers will be Mancunian rock group, elbow. The band shot to fame with their iconic single 'One Day Like This' in 2008. The same year, they scooped up the Mercury Prize for 'The Seldom Seen Kid'. Their impressive last album 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' received rave reviews across the board in 2014, and brand new record 'Little Fictions', their 7th studio record, is released on February 3rd.

Also making a welcome return to the spotlight is mega pop group Tears for Fears.

Over the past three decades, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have sold over 30 million records worldwide. They will be bringing all their hits to London for the first time in 12 years, including the #1 songs 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World', 'Shout' and 'Mad World'.

Completing the final killer line up is the dark-edged London trio, White Lies, who will no doubt be bringing anthems from their 2009 debut album 'To Lose My Life' to the park. Fans will also be treated to soaring choruses from 'Friends', the new album released late last year, including the upbeat single 'Morning in LA'.

With a great mix of 80s style hits and indie anthems, our final headliner announcement The Killers and special guests at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is now an essential date for summer 2017.
