450 Lecture - Reaching New Heights: A talk by Jake Meyer, the Youngest Person to Climb the 7 Summits

When Jake was just fourteen years old he set himself the challenge of becoming the youngest person to climb the 7 Summits; the highest mountain on each continent. On the 4th June 2005 he achieved his dream, standing on top of Everest; he became the youngest Briton at just 21 to conquer the world’s highest peak via the difficult North Col route as well as the youngest man in the world to complete the 7 Summits, breaking several climbing records on the way.

We are pleased to be able to welcome Jake to talk about his experiences, what inspired him as a young man and how ambitions, adventurous young people today can set and achieve their own challenges.
