Big Big Train, Sweet Billy Pilgrim
Four times Progressive Music Award winning band, Big Big Train, reached number one in the UK Official rock album charts with their 2017 album, Grimspound and number two with their recent live album, Merchants of Light, which was recorded at their sold out shows at London’s Cadogan Hall.
In autumn 2019, Big Big Train will embark upon their first ever UK tour, performing music from their forthcoming studio album alongside songs from their previous recordings, including 2009’s The Underfall Yard album. The shows will feature the band’s full live line-up, including a five-piece brass ensemble.
Support comes from Sweet Billy Pilgrim, an English genre spanning band who, on this occasion, will comprise duo Jana Carpenter and Tim Elsenburg. They describe their sound as "thrash pastel".
Classic English progressive band with roots in 70s Genesis (lots of Mellotron samples) playing well-crafted pastoral rock music interwoven with folky touches.
"Harking back to the classic age of prog and steeped in a pastoral style, Big Big Train have always delivered songs of substance and integrity. Mixing superb musicianship with conceptual lyrics of an England long lost, they tap into that lost vein which served early Genesis so well" - Echoes And Dust

As far as underground heroes go, few are more critically acclaimed than Mercury Music Prize nominated Sweet Billy Pilgrim, a four-piece Prog-Pop band from Aylesbury. One of music’s best-kept secrets.
Loved by their fans and revered by the kind of tastemakers whose opinions adorn adverts and posters on a regular basis, the four-piece have always sat firmly but unwittingly on the very fringes of commercial success
