Soundcrash is very pleased to announce the fantastic progressive jazz band Polar Bear and London's electronic pioneer James Holden will be taking to the stage at Electric Brixton on the 15th of November.
Having been Mercury nominated for their last album ‘Each And Every One’ Polar Bear followed it up with the complicated, intense, yet accessible ‘Same as You’ where they combine effortless improv jazz with electronic drones, drum patterns more often found in world music and raw energy. All created by the fantastic lineup featuring: Pete Wareham and Mark Lockheart (tenor sax), Tom Herbert (double bass) and Leafcutter John (guitar, electronics).
Over the past few years Border Community leader James Holden has collaborated with the likes of Caribou, and toured with Thom Yorke’s electronic side project Atoms for peace. He also released his first album in 6 years ‘The Inheritors’ which showcased his trademark mix of wonky modular synth melodies over an electro-acoustic backdrop to create a spectacularly psychedelic sound.
These two incredible experimental sounding acts will both be pushing the boundaries of what many would consider sonically possible on the stage at the Electric Brixton.
