This Language is a fresh and intricate piece of new writing that blends social realism with spoken word poetry.

Over the past 60 years, there has been a ground-breaking increase in cultural diversity throughout Britain. This has resulted in the urge to achieve equality through cultural preservation. But in a rapidly changing society, the living culture of Britain is hard to define.

Spanning three years, This Language follows a group of students from different corners of the globe thrown together into the melting pot of contemporary multiculturalism. The journey of the play is as broad as these characters, from comedy to drama, provocative cultural interrogations interweaved with the delicate nuance of poetic text.
