Get down!!

Level 1 - Dutty Moonshine Big Band (Live) Band on stage around midnight.

Imagine a 1930s speakeasy with an old radio in the corner playing swing and jazz classics to a crowd of drunk whisky drinkers all looking for a good time. Now imagine if somehow the radio suddenly picked up a distant futuristic noise…overlapping beats and bass with swinging rhythms to create a completely new alien sound…

Dutty Moonshine is the creation of Michael Rack – not only an extremely talented DJ and Musician but also one with a penchant for the seedy world of vaudeville. Mixing these together, he explores a new exciting sound via expertly crafted DJ sets or stage filling performances with his Big Band.

He has played all over the world from Canada to China and everywhere in between. In the UK, he has headlined some of the countries top club nights and continues to be booked at festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival and Secret Garden Party year in, year out. 2015 saw Mike take his 13 piece Dutty Moonshine Big Band out on to the festival circuit and in turn further cemented the fan base for Dutty Moonshine, with headline performances on some of the worlds biggest stages + 2019 they are hotter than ever. Truly can’t wait to witness them sonically demolish The South London Soul Train. Alllllll Abooooooooooooaaaard!

Then On Level 2 - 'I Get Lifted' Celebrating the launch of the new Bi-Monthly addition to The SLST last Sat of each month line up (alternating with Deep Into Soul). I Get Lifted aiming to keep the joyous, celebratory spirit of Paul Trouble Anderson alive.

The club night name 'I Get Lifted' based on the Barbara Tucker track that reflects how Paul Trouble Anderson’s sets made us feel, a track that will always remind us of Paul. His music would always lift us, put our Troubles aside and make us want to boogie any way we wanna.

The DJ’s selected to play, have a strong desire to keep Paul Trouble Anderson's style of music alive, recognise his refusal of being tied to one music genre and play uplifting dance music to an musically appreciative crowd.

For the launch, PTA friend, collaborator and Event Host Johnny Reckless welcomes local and international DJs (bi-monthly). Upcoming, established and heavyweight DJs with a love of soulful house dropping everything from disco re-edits, to beautifully soulful house drops and everything in between. Killer selectors who really know how to show you right! All night! "I Get Lifted" Kicking off with UK Club Institutions Chrissy T + Funkie who'll be joining Johnny Reckless for more level 2 funked up carnage.
