Level 1 - The Broken Brass Ensemble (Live) Band on stage around midnight.

Broken Brass injects the brass sound with a fusion of hip hop, funk, soul, dance, jazz (and much more) and turns it into a blazing mixture of energy. They’re taking brass to a new level, creating a 2.0 version of the vibrant brass sound.

With origins based in the Netherlands, Broken Brass have been firing up a storm all over Europe with an energizing and eclectic live sound, pairing punchy basses with hard-hitting brass. Selling out on CDs and vinyl from their previous albums and consistently filling 300+ capacity venues without promotion and on merit alone, shows that underestimating this brass band is out of the question.

The enigmatic eight-piece have conquered most of Europe with slots on Jazz a Vienne, Secret Garden Party, Shambala, Kendall Calling, Green Man, Fusion Festival, North Sea Jazz, Eurosonic and playing shows in India, Russia and Algeria. In addition, the globetrotting act has sold out multiple UK and Dutch venues, gained airtime from all the big Dutch media and in the UK from a.o. Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show and BBC Radio 6. With more than 500 shows under their belt, and no signs of stopping, Broken Brass is a live force to be reckoned with.

Then on Level 2 - Expect, The Funk, the whole funk and nothing but the funk on 45, as Legendary DJs Snowboy and Dean Rudland partner in heavyweight vinyl mayhem to drop it like it’s seriously hot, all night long! Dropping the platters that absolutely, positively still matter and wait for the sweat to fall. Soul-brellas highly recommended!

Room 3 (Level 2 / Room 2) S’all about too damn hot SLST residents - Mukatsuku records Founder, the outstanding Nik Weston and long standing partner, the ridiculously talented DJ Huw 72 take you on another sublime globalistic Safari across planet groove. Hunting down the tunes that absolutely still matter and setting em on yehs. Beautifully savagely. Owwwww.

The South London Soul Train 3 Floor / 4 Room Line up completed in the Rye Wax / Basement by Wah Wah 45 DJs, here to deliver a smorgasbord of palatable soul joints from the flip and love side. The South London Soul Train (as always) All floors, will be taking, all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.

However - Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this one's for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.

The South London Soul Train Runs 10pm - 5am / £5-13 Adv from RA or £15 OTD / Takes place every Saturday night at The CLF Art Cafe www.clfartcafe.org + beyond.
