Monkey Business Comedy Club: Ava Vidal, Alasdair Beckett-King, Ian Cognito, Martin Besserman
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Ava's always felt out of place: at public school, as a prison officer and a struggling teenage single mum. Luckily, the 'rising star' (Guardian) of C4's Kings Of Comedy and BBC2's The Sack Race can laugh at her misfortunes.
'Funny, witty and engaging, this is a comedian worth watching' (Three Weeks)
'Confident, commanding, yet low-key, she exudes a cool authority' (Chortle)
'Well-structured, well written and skilfully delivered' (The Scotsman)
'Stand-up with a harsh, dark edge, a refreshing change from all the feelgood cr*p' (Melbourne Age).

Alasdair won New Act of the Year (formerly Hackney Empire) in 2014 and has featured on BBC radio as a comedian and sketch writer. He’s performed stand-up across the UK, in the Glastonbury Cabaret Tent and at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Pleasance Reserve. He won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2017.
"Britain's leading New Testament impersonator." - Alasdair Beckett-King
“A bold and fresh comedy voice.” The Stage
“Delicious writing and exceptional observations.” Chortle
“A suave stand up with some killer lines.” Arthur Smith

Ian Cognito has been compared to Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks and Gerry Sadowitz. Winner of the Time Out Stand Up Comedy Performance Award 1999. He has been excluded from many venues because of his onstage antics.
Outspoken, opinionated and totally clued up, Ian Cognito's take on the world will have you convinced and convulsed (with laughter) as he spits his darkly humorous vitriol over an unsuspecting crowd.
'If you want to know what's wrong with New Britain, Ian Cognito's going to tell you. And if you don't, you'd better keep your mouth shut. Just stunning' (The Guardian)
'This electrifying, terrifying and ultimately vulnerable performer warmed a cold Glasgow audience to boiling point. Stand up should always be like this' (The List)
'First time I saw Cognito I was blown away. I was blown away the second time too. Third time I thought I could do that' (Reginald D Hunter).
