Two thieves hide out in the aftermath of a woman's brutal mugging. As they go through her possessions they discover her smartphone, which begins to receive strange messages. The texts become increasingly distressing, and ultimately terrifying, as the men struggle to comprehend the consequences of their actions.

A darkly comic ghost story for the iPhone age, Phoney was winner of ‘Best Play’ at the 2014 Spotlight Festival, receiving further development with BBC Writers Room. The show has already enjoyed a sell-out run at the Norwich Fringe Festival, and now GlobalCorp Theatre bring their hilarious and disturbing new production to The Bread and Roses for two nights only.
